The Michigan Department of Treasury has published the 2019 version of Form 447, “Transmittal for Magnetic Media Reporting of W-2s, W-2Gs and 1099s to the State of Michigan.” The included instructions also serve as the specifications for filing the same forms mentioned in the title to Form 447.

There are no changes to the specifications themselves.

The Department of Treasury reminds filers that Michigan now requires Employers with 250 or more employees to file electronically, via “Michigan Treasury Online” (“MTO”). Michigan now participates in the Combined Federal/State 1099 filing program. While CFS will satisfy when there is no Michigan income, if Michigan income tax was withheld, a copy of the wage statement must be filed with the Department of Treasury.
