Quebec Tire Fee Change Effective July 1, 2023

Effective July 1, 2023, the Canadian province of Quebec will change its tire fee structure. Until June 30, 2023, a fee of $3 applies to sales of a new tire with a rim diameter not exceeding 24.5 inches. Effective July 1, 2023, two fee amounts will apply based on the overall tire diameter for tires with a rim diameter of 24.5 inches or less. Specifically, a fee of $4.50 will apply to a tire with an overall tire diameter of 83.82 cm (33 in) or less, and a fee of $6 will apply to a tire with an overall tire diameter over 83.82 cm (33 in) but not exceeding 123.19 cm (48.5 in).
