Ecuador Issues Resolution Mandating More Taxpayers to Comply with eInvoicing

The Ecuadorean Tax Administration (SRI) has issued a new Resolution intended to expand the obligation to issue and report electronic invoices. Resolution NAC-DGERCGC18-00000191 establishes the following schedule defining the effective dates when the new taxpayers will need to start complying with the eInvoicing mandate:

Group	Effective Date	Mandated Taxpayers
1	01 Nov 2018	All Importers that sell their products without transformation in the national market
2	01 Jan 2019	All existing for commercial entities (for profit) Suppliers of the State with gross revenues equal or above 100,000 US dollars Sellers of new vehicles Sellers of used vehicles and heavy duty vehicles Individuals and Commercial NPOs (Organizaciones de Economia Popular) with Gross revenues between 200,000 and 300,000 US dollars per year Retailers of Liquid Fuels
3	01 Jan 2020	Individuals and Commercial NPOs (Organizaciones de Economia Popular) with Gross revenues between 100,000 and 200,000 US dollars per year Wholesalers and Retailers of Liquefied Gas (GLP) Any entity not included in previous Groups that issues invoices to the government for 1000 dollars or more, will be required to issue electronic invoice
4	Within a year of starting operations	All new companies, not included in the previous groups
