The Australian Government is enhancing its commitment to increase Peppol e-invoicing in the country. This commitment is highlighted in the State Budget for 2025.

The Government recognizes its role in leading the uptake of e-invoicing in Australia and aims to promote the adoption of e-invoicing by all businesses, by continuing outreach efforts and considering a communications campaign.

Therefore, besides being mandatory for all Commonwealth agencies to be able to receive e-invoices since July 2022, the Government will continue to demonstrate leadership on the adoption of e-invoicing by moving more and more government agencies to take a step further and start issuing Peppol e-invoices in 2025. For a detailed list of government agencies and regions that are taking this step please consult the list available here.
