Ohio recently released its 2024 W-2 Upload Specifications. Most notably, filers should be prepared to navigate a new and improved interface when filing 2024 information returns. Beginning December 9, 2024, ‘OH Tax eServices’ will become active on Ohio Business Gateway to be used for all employer withholding taxes. Taxpayers can log into their existing Ohio Business Gateway account to access the new OH Tax eServices and upload W-2 and 1099 forms using the new ‘Upload Income Statement’ feature.

The specifications have been updated to reflect increases to the maximum social security wage base. The total of RW Record, Position 210-220 (Social Security Wages) and RW Record, Position 254-264 (Social Security Tips) should not exceed $168,600. The amount reported in RW Record, 221-231 (Social Security Tax Withheld) should not exceed $10,453.20.
