Direct-to-consumer shop launches on Tock with selections perfect for gifting
and hosting during the holiday season
(ATLANTA) November 29, 2022 – Automated alcohol beverage compliance leader Sovos ShipCompliant is supporting Tock Wine Shop, a direct-to-consumer (DtC) ecommerce shop for wineries from the all-in-one booking management platform Tock. The Tock Wine Shop will allow wineries to offer bottles and bundles to wine lovers, while the API integration with Sovos ShipCompliant helps wineries ensure that shipments are fully compliant with all federal and state regulations.
“It only makes sense that a customer would be interested in purchasing from a winery after visiting for a tasting, tour or event,” said Larry Cormier, vice president and general manager of Sovos ShipCompliant. “Until now, small producers and family vineyards have had to manage their own wine clubs or ecommerce operations for those customers. Tock Wine Shop allows wineries of all sizes to sell directly to consumers while our ShipCompliant solution ensures a compliant process that removes the risk of producers incurring fines or other penalties for non-compliant shipments.”
The demand for DtC wine shipments has continued to increase and be a key industry focus as producers feel consumer pressure for online availability. Since 2020, Tock has seen a 175% increase in winery bookings for tastings, tours and events, and their winery partners are experiencing higher levels of demand than ever before.
“Tock Wine Shop creates more opportunities for our partners to meet high industry demand, while giving consumers exclusive access to wines from all over the country,” said Tock’s Chief Marketing Officer, Bryan Ferschinger. “While we have the built-in network of millions of consumer accounts, and thousands of winery partners, Sovos ShipCompliant is an integral part in ensuring all shipments from winery partners are fully compliant with all federal and state regulations.”
The Tock marketplace allows consumers to shop wines from multiple wineries all in one place, while ShipCompliant manages compliance checks against each of the individual producers’ accounts. Bottles that were previously exclusive to in-person tastings can now be shipped directly to wine lovers thanks to seamless technology that gives wineries autonomy to manage shipping and inventory control of their products.
