After vigorous evaluation process, Sovos is among the select group of tax compliance software providers granted PDP status
PARIS, August 27, 2024 – Sovos, the always-on compliance company, today announced that it has been granted its Registration Number (n°0004) as an official Plateforme de Dématérialisation Partenaire (PDP). This designation is for third-party private platform partners of the French Tax Authority, known as the Public Finances Directorate General (DGFiP), that transmit e-invoices to the public invoicing portal or another PDP along with mandatory data, reports and statuses to the public portal.
France is poised to introduce a major e-invoicing and e-reporting reform to be rolled out in a phased approach, initially targeting the largest companies from September 2026 through 2027. Since May 2023, software publishers and enterprise resource planning (ERP) providers have been invited to submit applications to the French government to become a registered PDP. The rigorous application process was stringent and required all potential providers to complete interoperability testing with other PDP candidates to ensure they could meet every element of the regulation requirements. Sovos is now one of just a few certified so far, out of 70 applicants.
“Sovos’ selection as a certified PDP provider reflects the strength of our application and the robust professional relationships we maintain,” said Steve Sprague, Chief Product and Strategy officer, Sovos. “Our ability to execute all elements of the mandate was never in question, and this began to be demonstrated during the initial test phase and will be confirmed during the forthcoming tests with the Public Portal. We look forward to assisting the French government as a certified provider.”
PDPs will play a key role in this e-invoicing and e-reporting mandate. As certified third parties, these portals will act as the interface between companies and the French government and will be directly involved in issuing and receiving invoices. The goal is for companies to choose the methods and formats for exchanging their electronic invoices, both incoming and outgoing, with the obligation to communicate invoicing, transaction and payment data to the authorities.
