Provider of intelligent compliance solutions is now one of only 30 companies certified in Chile
Global tax compliance and reporting leader Sovos today announced that it has achieved ISO 27001 certification in Chile, becoming one of only 30 technology companies in the country to have obtained the certification.
The globally recognized International Organization for Standardization developed The ISO 27001 standard. The standard provides requirements for information security, specifically related to management of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to an organization by third parties.
Sovos established a presence in Chile with the 2017 acquisition of Paperless, the eInvoicing and eReceipts solution used most often by retail businesses across Latin America. The certification represents the collective work of a combined Sovos and Paperless team.
ISO 27001 certification involves a long and painstaking process that includes, among other steps, documenting processes, performing risk analysis and developing a treatment plan to mitigate risks. It requires buy-in from all levels of the organization, including executive leadership. Ultimately, ISO 27001 certification ensures Sovos customers that the company is on the forefront of data security and makes protecting their data the highest priority.
