The Spanish tax administration (AEAT) has released a comprehensive set of files, tools, and documents necessary for the definitive implementation of the Immediate Information Remittance system, locally known as SII Version 1.0. As of June 15, all of the documentation, testing and validation files available to taxpayers and software providers were based on pre-releases used for testing purposes. As part of this announcement, the AEAT has stated that exceptionally, and with the purpose of allowing testing in a real production environment, taxpayers and software providers will be allowed to submit SII reports using the real environment without legal tax consequences between June 19 and 29. The SII enters into effect in July 1, 2017, and requires taxpayers to submit all the relevant invoice information to the AEAT almost in real time. All the files sent during the trial period will be deleted on June 30, 2017.
