Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday afternoon that the Senate would not hold a vote this week on the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, as had been originally planned. Senate leadership cited a need for further revision to the original draft, as five Senators have vowed to vote against the bill in its current form. A CBO report released yesterday also raised concerns among a few Republicans regarding the estimate that 22 million additional Americans would be uninsured by 2026.

Leadership will likely produce a revised draft of its bill early in the second week of July when Senators return from the July 4th recess, with a vote to be held at some point thereafter.
