IMS: Reconciliation Categories

After reconciliation, every invoice is placed in exactly one category. The category tells you how the invoice compares with its counterpart, and it suggests what to do next. You will see these categories in IMS Recon Result, in Summary Actioning and in Invoice Actioning.

CategoryWhat it meansWhat you usually do
MatchThe invoice value, taxable value, tax amounts, Place of Supply, Reverse Charge and Invoice Type are all the same in your register and in IMS.Accept the invoice.
Deemed MatchThe invoice had a Value Mismatch or an Invoice Mismatch, and you moved it here using a tolerance rule.Review the invoice, and then Accept it.
Value MismatchThe invoice is in both places, but the invoice value, taxable value or tax amounts are different.Analyse it with a tolerance rule, use Force Link if a credit or debit note explains the difference, or ask the supplier.
Invoice MismatchThe invoice is in both places, but the Place of Supply, Reverse Charge, Invoice Type or the invoice-level value is different.Review and correct it, or ignore that field using a tolerance rule.
IMS OnlyThe supplier has reported the invoice in IMS, but there is no comparable invoice in your register.Run the advanced rules, use Multi Linkage, or Reject it or hold it Pending.
Purchaser OnlyYou have booked the invoice in your register, but there is no comparable invoice in IMS.Run the advanced rules, or follow up with the supplier.
Mixed InvoicesInvoices that you linked yourself using Force Link or Multi Linkage. They are then reconciled again automatically.Review the new result.
Original SO AmendedThe supplier’s original invoice, which has been replaced by an amended invoice. It is flagged as already amended and is ignored in later steps.Nothing.

In plain words: IMS Only means your supplier has reported an invoice that you have not booked in a way that matches, and Purchaser Only means you have booked an invoice that your supplier has not reported, or has reported differently.
