Retailer and consumer demand for interstate direct-to-consumer (DtC) shipping is growing, especially as they eye the access and success wineries enjoy in the $3.7 billion DtC wine shipping channel.

However, retailers face unique challenges when expanding into this market, from having a limited map of to where they are allowed to DtC ship alcohol to managing compliance requirements in several states at once. While challenging, though, the possible rewards of establishing an active DtC market may just be worth it. What do retailers entering or looking to grow in the DtC shipping channel need to know?

Please join Sovos ShipCompliant and the National Association of Wine Retailers (NAWR) for a look at key topics for retailers actively engaged or considering entrance into the DtC shipping channel. Topics will include:

• An overview of the current regulatory landscape for retailer DtC shipping
• Complications in that landscape, including but not limited to sales tax and excise tax considerations
• Active and anticipated legislation and litigation in this arena
• What’s ahead as NAWR and others work to expand the map for retailer DtC shipping
