ShipCompliant Product News

Updated December 12, 2023

The new year is off to a busy start, and our team has been working hard to keep you updated with all its new regulations and reporting requirements.
We’ve begun support for the California Beverage Container Recycling Program, including collection and remittance of the redemption value on direct sales of wine, and the manufacturer processing fee for distribution of beer, wine and spirits. For collection of the CRV, we will return the total amount of the fee per order via API. While the manufacturer processing fee can't be collected directly from consumers, we now support the required reporting for both DtC wine shipments to California residents and for all wholesale distributions.

Summary of Fee Breakdown

These fees pertain to consumable beverages and have a tax rate based on the underlying goods. Fees are based on product information, specifically Container Type and Container Size. Be sure to include this information in product API syncs or add it manually in your ShipCompliant account.
We've also made some minor changes to keep you fully compliant:

  • We fixed a bug where certain orders made to PO boxes were showing as compliant.
  • We've also made some performance improvements to improve speed and minimize redirection timeouts.
  • The Nebraska State and Local Sales and Use Tax Return - Schedule I has been updated with minor changes, including a rate change for the city of Kimball.

Thank you for your continued partnership and stay tuned for more updates next month!
