Summer may be a time to slow down in search of a cooling breeze, but our ShipCompliant team is hard at work keeping you compliant. Here’s a rundown of last month’s changes tracked in the product.
New and Improved
Product registrations
We added support for legacy Certificate of Label Approval (COLA) registrations. You can now select vintages back to 1995 and attach supporting COLA documents that stay with the registration and are included in the submitted packet.
Bug Fixes
Product registration
We fixed a problem that prevented distributors from approving product registrations in Kentucky.
Direct shipper reports
We fixed an issue that caused emailed reports to have default file names. The Arkansas Quarterly Direct Shipper Report now keeps the correct file name when Sovos sends it to the state.
Label registration
We removed the “E-File Required” watermark from generated label registration packets. You can now send the paper copy of a packet to states that still accept paper or emailed label registrations, without editing the packet first.
Regulatory Updates
Alaska
We added the Chignik jurisdiction to the Alaska Remote Seller Sales Tax Return upload template. You can now report sales for Chignik, effective July 1, 2026.
Colorado
We updated the Colorado Retail Delivery Fee Return (Form DR-1786) with the latest revision date. The form reflects the $0.31 retail delivery fee effective July 1, 2026.
Illinois
We updated the Chicago Annual Liquor Tax Report to match the revised city form. The report now:
- Maps total gallons sold to the gallonage lines by alcohol content category.
- Separates on-premises and off-premises consumption.
- Calculates the off-premises tax.
- Reports the combined tax due.
The annualization section covers the July 2025 through June 2026 prepayment periods, and the total tax due in ShipCompliant reflects the amount that remains after your prepayments.
Nebraska
We updated Schedule I of the Nebraska Form 10 State and Local Sales and Use Tax Return with the new rate of 1.5% for the city of Edgar and with the latest state layout, effective July 1, 2026.
North Dakota
We updated the local schedule of the North Dakota Sales, Use, and Gross Receipts Tax return with the new rate of 3.5% for the city of Drayton and the new rate of 2% for the city of Scranton, effective July 1, 2026.
Vermont
We added eight local jurisdictions to the Vermont SU-451 Sales and Use Tax Return:
- Bristol
- Fair Haven
- Mendon
- Morristown
- Pomfret
- Swanton
- Vergennes
- Waitsfield
Each new jurisdiction reports at a rate of 1%, effective July 1, 2026.
West Virginia
We updated the West Virginia WNE-02 Direct Shipper’s Report of Wine Shipped upload file to match the latest state template. Invoice dates now use the MM/DD/YYYY format. The file also includes the new Schedule B tab.
The compliance landscape keeps moving, and so does ShipCompliant. We’ll keep you informed as updates roll out. In the meantime, reach out to your account team with any questions.
