Favorite part of your job: I enjoy working with the team as we continue to grow and seeing individual members succeed within their field. I love seeing all the new drinks coming out and what’s coming to Minnesota.
Favorite beverage and why: I love a good dark smokey beer. Hammerheart Brewing is my favorite local spot for this kind of beer, as they do limited releases throughout the year. I highly recommend the Thor’s Hot Pepper Porter or the Imperial Longship (Imperial Scotch Ale). Oliphant brewing in Wisconsin also makes some top-notch hazy brews.
Describe your ideal setting for enjoying your favorite beverage (and what might that beverage be?): There are a ton of situations that are perfect for a drink. I enjoy sitting around the campfire in the woods. It’s great atmosphere to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet with some drinks. Game night with friends is always a good time to include some brews, whether its boardgames or a few rounds on Xbox. You can find a lot of great Minnesota drink choices at our stellar local music venues. We’ve got an awesome brewery scene here so picking just one drink is always tough! On a chill night, a drink in hand with a cat on the lap is a prime situation.
What out-of-state beverage do you wish could be shipped directly to you? Black Raven Brewing is an awesome brewery from Woodinville, Washington. They have a great selection; my two favorites are their Updraft Pale Ale, which is a super crisp refreshing ale and their blueberry porter (Kitty Kat Blues) is one of the most unique beers I’ve had. It’s like drinking a blueberry pancake!
