Title: VP, Customer and User Experience
Hometown: Burlington, Vermont
Years in the industry/at Sovos ShipCompliant: 12 years
Favorite part of your job: I love meeting our customers! At the risk of sounding cheesy, it’s been my favorite part of the job since back in 2010 when I attended my first ShipCompliant conference.
Favorite beverage and why: It depends on the season but I’ll never turn down a jammy California red, a hoppy IPA or one of my husband’s homebrews.
What is a recent project/campaign that you’re especially proud of and why - what impact did it create? I am especially excited about some of the upcoming changes to the ShipCompliant product. We’re updating the product to improve the way our customers maintain their state compliance over time, making it easier to add new vintages, new product lines and, more generally, keep ShipCompliant up-to-date as a business grows. Alcohol shipping compliance is unique and hence our product needs to be, too.
What motivates you to do what you do here, and how do you contribute to the customer experience? Compliance is hard and at certain times of the year, it can be all-consuming. I love making it easier and less stressful. Sometimes this means designing products that automate a historically manual task and sometimes this means building better ways for customers to engage with us and learn from our experts. Regardless of how we do it, it is really meaningful to me to know that we help our customers sleep easy at night, get home in time for dinner, and feel like they have their tax and compliance challenges under control.
