Compliant to Ship, Ready to Sell: The Five Imagery Gaps That Cost You the Sale

A wine's compliance status decides whether a bottle can ship. Its product page decides whether anyone wants it shipped in the first place.

Most DtC teams have compliance dialed in. The label is approved, the shipping states licensing is covered, the order is ready to go. But the sale often stalls one step earlier, at the product page. Buyers read a lot into catalog imagery: whether the vintage on the page matches the one in the warehouse, whether a gift set is what it appears to be, whether the listing is current at all. When that imagery falls short, the compliance work behind it never gets the chance to matter.

Join Sovos ShipCompliant and Outshinery for a look at the five imagery gaps that most often cost wineries the sale, drawn from Outshinery's work with more than 2,000 beverage brands, plus a simple catalog readiness framework.

We will cover:

  • The five imagery gaps that show up again and again in beverage alcohol catalogs, including incomplete listings, mismatched photo libraries, and out-of-date vintage photos.
  • Why the holiday gift program is where these gaps do the most damage, and what buyers need to see before they commit to a gift set or large-format bottle.
  • A four-part catalog readiness framework you can run against your own listings the same afternoon.
  • Why imagery ownership, more than imagery quality, is often the real fix.

This session is for winery marketers and DtC leads at wineries of all sizes, whether marketing is one part of a broader role or a full-time focus.

The company donates 2% of its profits to WaterAid Canada, because wine and beer are best enjoyed with a glass of clean water.
