Even in the summer, we’re never on vacation from tracking regulatory updates and product changes. Here’s a selection of highlights and news from the last month.
New and Improved
Report settings
Supplier Admin users can now change ship date and payment date preferences directly in report settings, without submitting a support ticket.
Registrations
We updated Alabama Combined registrations to generate two separate registration packets: one for Direct-to-Consumer (DtC) and one for Wholesale (WS). Previously, the system created a single combined PDF that the state rejected. Each packet now includes the correct cover letter, registration forms, and supporting documents. You can send each packet to the state individually, which meets Alabama's registration requirements.
AutoFile
You will now see an error if you try to change the filing frequency while a report recalculation is still running to prevent duplicate or inconsistent reports.
Bug Fixes
Label registrations
We fixed an issue where label registrations could be sent to states without related products. The system now validates that products are included before you can send a registration.
Missouri reports
We fixed a problem that prevented recalculation of Missouri Sales and Use Tax reports for certain periods. You can now recalculate and prepare these reports for filing as expected.
New Mexico reports
We fixed a problem where the Local Taxes option was missing from the tax preference dropdown for New Mexico. You can now select Local Taxes as a tax preference, ensuring local Gross Receipts Tax is calculated correctly.
Registrations
- We fixed an issue that was causing held renewals to be deactivated without warning when pending check payments were overridden. You can now complete the renewal process without registrations being deactivated prematurely.
- We resolved a processing error that prevented South Carolina label registration rejections from completing for wine, malt, and cider products. Rejections for these product types now complete successfully.
En Route Dashboard
We fixed a problem where orders with certain tracking number formats didn't appear on the En Route Dashboard. Orders now display correctly.
E-signatures
We fixed a problem where you couldn't edit or add e-signatures for tax return filings. You can now set up and manage e-signatures without problems.
Tax reporting
We fixed a problem that was causing sales to the City of Chicago to appear twice on the Illinois Sales and Use Tax returns. You can now file Illinois returns with accurate sales figures.
Brands
We fixed an issue that caused an error when you updated brand keys for brands with a large number of assigned products. You can now update brand keys regardless of the number of products assigned to the brand.
Compliance
We fixed a problem where orders with P.O. box shipping addresses passed compliance checks instead of being blocked. Compliance validation now correctly blocks orders with non-deliverable addresses, such as P.O. boxes, regardless of how the order was created.
AutoFile
We fixed a problem where duplicate filings were generated when a merchant changed filing frequency and both the old and new frequencies shared the same due date. The system now checks for existing filings before generating new reports after a frequency change.
Regulatory Updates
Illinois
We updated the Chicago Liquor Tax Return to reflect changes effective March 1, 2026. The prepayment calculation now uses a flat 1.5% rate based on alcohol shipments instead of a gallonage rate per product type. We also updated the return template to reflect the new calculation method.
Louisiana
We added support for the East Baton Rouge Parish local alcohol tax return. The report includes updated filing methods, templates, and is due 20 days after each month.
Arkansas
We updated the Arkansas Quarterly Direct Shipper Report download naming convention to match state requirements. Downloaded reports now use the format: [License Number]-[Business Name]-Wine Shipping Report-[Quarter and Year]. This change applies retroactively to existing reports.
The compliance landscape keeps moving, and so does ShipCompliant. We'll keep you informed as updates roll out. In the meantime, reach out to your account team with any questions.
