Spring is in full swing, and so is the pace of change in beverage alcohol compliance. This month brings a mix of product improvements and regulatory updates to help you stay ahead across state filings, licensing, and shipping workflows.
New and improved
Label packets
We improved label packet rendering by moving PDF generation to background processing. You can now create label packets without waiting for the PDF to render inline. The Review Label Packet page now displays rendering status indicators, and you can track progress while the PDF generates in the background. We also improved error handling for batch packet creation to provide clearer feedback when problems occur.
Bug fixes
Licenses
We fixed a problem that caused incorrect license type assignment for cider product packets in Arkansas. The system now assigns the correct Wholesale Distribution (Beer, Cider) license type for cider products above six percent alcohol content.
Tax reports
We fixed a problem with the Ohio Beer and Malt Beverage Tax Return that caused incorrect excise tax calculations for certain container configurations. The report now calculates accurate tax amounts.
We also fixed a problem that caused incorrect amounts on the California CDTFA-401-A2 Sales and Use Tax Return. Nontaxable sales are now included in the report calculations, and the amounts on the report and the downloadable spreadsheet match.
Orders
We fixed a problem that caused single club order releases to time out. You can now release individual club orders to fulfillment without errors.
Distributors
We fixed a problem in the Wholesale Wizard where cloning distributor territories from one brand to another copied all territories instead of only the selected ones. You can now clone brand territories and get only the territories that were selected for the source brand.
Regulatory Updates
Alabama
We updated tax administration for the City of Samson. Sales, use, rental, and lodgings taxes now report through the Alabama Department of Revenue instead of the previous administrator, effective April 1, 2026.
California
We updated the CDTFA-401-A2 Sales and Use Tax Return for April 2026 reporting periods in both PDF and Excel formats.
Colorado
- We updated the Colorado Retail Sales Tax Return to remove the state-level vendor discount (service fee) effective January 1, 2026. This change reflects the elimination of the timely filing discount at the state level as outlined in the approved House Bill.
- We updated the City of Loveland Sales Tax Return with a new mailing address, effective January 1, 2026.
- We updated the DR-0100 Retail Sales Tax Return with formatting changes for 2026.
- We updated the DR-1786 Retail Delivery Fee Return with formatting changes.
- We updated jurisdiction ID reporting code mappings for multiple Colorado locations on the Colorado Retail Sales and Use Tax Return. PDF and XML returns now calculate sales and use tax accurately for affected Colorado locations.
Georgia
We updated the ST-3 Sales and Use Tax Report to reflect current rate changes for May 2026.
Maine
We updated date column formatting for the Maine Direct Shipper Excise Tax and Premium Report and the Maine Report of Shipments upload files. Both reports now use the correct formatting for upload.
Minnesota
We corrected a tax rate calculation for a new address in Worthington, Minnesota. Previously, the system calculated only the state tax rate of 6.875% instead of the full combined rate of 7.875%, which includes county and city taxes. You can now expect accurate tax calculations for this address that reflect all applicable state, county, and city tax rates.
Missouri
We updated the Missouri Sales to Wholesale Dealers and Monthly Report PDF for domestic and foreign beer and adjusted the e-file frequency.
Nebraska
We updated the Form 10 State and Local Sales and Use Tax Return (Schedule I) for changes effective April 1, 2026.
Oklahoma
We adjusted the due date for the Oklahoma Report of Distributor Shipments from the 20th to the 10th day of each month to align with state requirements.
We also added new jurisdiction reporting code mappings for Louisiana, Missouri, Texas, and Illinois sales and use tax returns.
The compliance landscape keeps moving, and so does ShipCompliant. We'll keep you informed as updates roll out. In the meantime, reach out to your account team with any questions.
