A seasoned technology executive with over 25 years of experience leading high-performing teams and driving technology strategy, Eric is responsible for setting and overseeing the company’s technology direction. Eric is known for his visionary leadership style, which emphasizes empowering teams to reach their full potential by providing them with the freedom to innovate and excel.
Prior to joining Sovos, Eric served as the CTO for Fiserv’s core payment acceptance business unit, where he led a global organization supporting the world’s largest payment card processing volumes. He played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the company, showcasing his expertise in managing critical, high-volume transactions.
Eric’s career highlights include leading the product management function at Avon products, where he grew the eCommerce channel to a $10 billion order-to-cash business in 75 countries using a single technology codebase. As Chief Technology Officer at First Data, he contributed to the design, implementation, and launch of Apple Pay, paving the way for the mass adoption of NFC EMV at the point of sale. His success fueled the growth of First Data’s eCommerce gateway business, growing it from $50m ARR to $250m ARR by providing secure payment solutions for hundreds of thousands of merchants.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eric’s leadership style is influenced by his time spent in the Army National Guard as a combat engineer and squad leader. This experience taught him the values of professionalism, accountability, and prioritizing the mission above all else.
