Maryland Revises Form MW506FR, Employer Withholding Final Return Form

Maryland has updated its Form MW506FR, Employer Withholding Final Return Form – which should be submitted with the final employer withholding tax return (MW506 or MW506M) or mailed separately if filing electronically. The only revision to the form is the additional requirement of the last four digits of the employer’s zip code.

Alabama Announces Second Quarter Interest Rate

The Alabama Department of Revenue recently announced the quarterly interest rate for underpayments and overpayments of withholding taxes for the second quarter of 2019. The interest rate for the first quarter of 2019 was 6% and will remain at 6% for this coming quarter.

Nebraska Releases 2019 Nebraska Lottery Winner Claim Form

Nebraska has released a 2019 version of its Form NE-LOT, Nebraska Lottery Winner Claim Form, which is filed for the purpose of gambling winning withholdings. The form only has one revision from last year’s version: winnings from the “Lucky for Life” game are now subject to withholding.

Oregon Publishes Bulletin 2018-02

The Oregon Department of Revenue has published Bulletin 2018-02, containing the interest rates for refunds, deficiencies, and delinquencies for the year 2019. The interest rates will change effective January 1, 2019. Rather than 5% on refunds, deficiencies, and delinquencies, the interest rate will increase to 6%.
