North Carolina Announces Interest Rate for Second Half of 2019

North Carolina has announced a change in the interest rate for the over- and underpayment of taxes.  Effective from July 2019 to January 2020, the interest rate will be six percent.  This is down one percent from the prior interest rate. West Virginia Revises Electronic Funds Transfer Instructions

West Virginia has updated its EFT Program Information Guide. The only revision to the publication is that for periods starting on or after January 1, 2019, taxpayers remitting any single business tax of $50,000 or more during the previous fiscal year must pay and file returns electronically for all business tax types, unless specifically excluded.

Vermont Updates ACH Credit Instructions

Vermont has revised its instructions for making ACH Credit Payments to the Department of Taxes. The instructions remain mostly the same, although the bank address to which filers should pay withholding taxes has changed: People’s United Bank, 112 State Street, Montpelier, VT 05601 VT Tax Account Number: 8877770634 The routing and account numbers have remained the same.

Maryland Revises Form MW506FR, Employer Withholding Final Return Form

Maryland has updated its Form MW506FR, Employer Withholding Final Return Form – which should be submitted with the final employer withholding tax return (MW506 or MW506M) or mailed separately if filing electronically. The only revision to the form is the additional requirement of the last four digits of the employer’s zip code.

Alabama Announces Second Quarter Interest Rate

Nebraska Releases 2019 Nebraska Lottery Winner Claim Form

Nebraska has released a 2019 version of its Form NE-LOT, Nebraska Lottery Winner Claim Form, which is filed for the purpose of gambling winning withholdings. The form only has one revision from last year’s version: winnings from the “Lucky for Life” game are now subject to withholding.
