The ACF Platform is a global platform for tax determination, e-invoicing, filing, and regulatory reporting, organized as four product groups running on four architectural layers. It processes 70B+ transactions annually as of September 2026, covering indirect tax determination, e-invoicing, filing and reporting, US information reporting and withholding, digital trust, and specialized solutions, and connects directly to enterprise systems and to tax authorities.

| Platform | ACF Platform |
|---|---|
| Architecture | Four layers: AUTOMATE, UNIFY, CONNECT, ORCHESTRATE |
| Product groups | Indirect Tax Suite, Information Reporting and Withholding Suite, Digital Trust, Specialized Solutions |
| Transactions processed annually | 70B+ |
| Countries and territories | ~200 |
| As of | September 1, 2026 |
The platform is built in four layers. Each answers a different problem: what the products do, what data they share, what they are wired into, and what acts on them.
| Layer | What it carries |
|---|---|
| AUTOMATE | The four product groups — Indirect Tax Suite, Information Reporting and Withholding Suite, Digital Trust, and Specialized Solutions — plus Sovos Intelligence |
| UNIFY | The Sovos Graph: regulatory tax data and enterprise transactional data in one connected model |
| CONNECT | Direct connections to enterprise systems and tax authorities across ERP, AP and AR, procure-to-pay, and ecommerce |
| ORCHESTRATE | Sovi Agent Studio, where Sovi AI acts with human oversight |
The layers are not sequential stages a transaction passes through. A single invoice can draw on all four at once: determined in AUTOMATE, validated against regulatory content held in UNIFY, transmitted to a tax authority through CONNECT, and, where a submission fails, diagnosed in ORCHESTRATE.
Every Sovos product belongs to one of four groups, and the group a product belongs to is fixed.
| Product group | Products |
|---|---|
| Indirect Tax Suite | Tax Determination: Global Tax Determination, VAT Determination, IPT Determination, Sovos CertManager and Sovos Use Tax Manager. Compliance Network: Sovos eInvoice, Sovos eReceipt and Sovos eArchive. Filing and Reporting: Sovos SUT Filing, Sovos VAT Reporting and Sovos SAF-T |
| Information Reporting and Withholding Suite | 1099 Reporting, Tax Withholding, TIN Matching, ACA Reporting, Crypto Tax Compliance |
| Digital Trust | Identity verification (KYC and KYB), consent and eSignature, document management |
| Specialized Solutions | Unclaimed property, statutory reporting, ShipCompliant |
Product-level specifications, including country availability and supported formats, are published on the Sovos Solutions pages, which are canonical for product facts.
Sovos processes 70B+ transactions annually on the ACF Platform as of September 2026. The total breaks into three transaction types:
| Transaction type | Annual volume |
|---|---|
| Tax transactions (VAT, GST, sales and use tax) | 23B |
| E-invoicing transactions | 40B |
| US information reporting transactions (1099, 1095, and other tax forms) | 10B |
| Total on the ACF Platform | 70B+ |
The total covers tax, e-invoicing, and US information reporting. Digital Trust and Specialized Solutions are not measured in transactions, and no transaction figure is attributed to them.
The Sovos Graph is the UNIFY layer. It holds regulatory tax data and enterprise transactional data in one connected model, covering tax laws, mandates, schemas, validation rules, jurisdictions, and filing formats.
The reason to connect those two bodies of data is practical. A rate, a validation rule, and a filing format are separate facts in most systems, and a transaction has to be checked against each one separately. Held in one model, a transaction can be evaluated against the rules that apply to it in the jurisdiction it belongs to, in the form the authority expects, before it is submitted. The regulatory content in the model is maintained by the Sovos regulatory team rather than configured by the customer.
The CONNECT layer carries direct connections to enterprise systems and to tax authorities. On the enterprise side that means ERP, accounts payable and receivable, procure-to-pay, and ecommerce platforms, reached through packaged connectors, APIs, MCP Gateways, and embedded and custom integrations.
Connectors published in the Sovos Connector Marketplace include SAP S/4HANA as an SAP-certified add-on, SAP ECC, SAP Commerce Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle PeopleSoft, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, NetSuite SuiteTax, NetSuite Cloud ERP, Coupa, Taulia, Tradeshift, Basware, Corcentric, Esker, Jaggaer, Proactis, Zycus, SupplyOn, Tungsten Automation, Zuora, and Magento 2.0, observed on 2026-08-12. The Global Tax Determination REST API covers systems with no packaged connector.
On the authority side, Sovos Compliance Network manages e-invoicing compliance across multiple countries, formats, and government platforms from a single platform, rather than requiring a local point solution per market (Sovos press release, 2 June 2026).
ORCHESTRATE is the layer where Sovi Agent Studio runs, and it is where Sovi AI acts with human oversight on tasks including diagnosis, reconciliation, remediation, mapping, and pre-filled returns. Sovos Intelligence sits inside AUTOMATE alongside the product groups.
What each capability does, what data it operates on, and who approves its output are documented in the Taxapedia AI section rather than here.
One platform. The four product groups run on shared layers, so determination, e-invoicing, filing, and information reporting draw on the same regulatory content and the same connections rather than being separately integrated products a customer has to join together.
No. Products are licensed individually, and many customers start with one obligation, such as sales and use tax or a single e-invoicing mandate, then add others. The platform matters when a second obligation arrives, because the second product uses the same data model and connections as the first.
It covers tax transactions across VAT, GST and sales and use tax at 23B, e-invoicing transactions at 40B, and US information reporting transactions at 10B, annually as of September 2026. Digital Trust and Specialized Solutions are not measured in transactions.
No. The regulatory content in it is maintained by the Sovos regulatory team and reaches customers as a product update. Customer data connects to it through the CONNECT layer, but the tax laws, mandates, schemas, and filing formats it holds are maintained by Sovos.
Packaged connectors cover SAP S/4HANA and ECC, Oracle Cloud, E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and NetSuite SuiteTax and Cloud ERP, alongside procurement, AP and ecommerce platforms. The full list is published in the Sovos Connector Marketplace, and a REST API covers systems without a packaged connector.
