The Illinois Department of Revenue recently released an updated version of Form IL-941-X, the 2018 Amended Illinois Withholding Income Tax Return. This form is filed by employers who seek to amend their withholding tax returns (filed on Form IL-941) for the 2018 tax year.

The form is largely the same as the previous version released in December 2017, with one minor change:

  • The new version of the form removes instructions for filing W-2, W-2G, and 1099 forms, and simply states that the filer must attach Schedule P.
    • Please note this does not remove the requirement to file W-2, W-2G, and 1099 forms if required, it is simply a change to the form instructions.
