Sovos Announces Partnership with Rewriting the Code to Support the Next Generation of Women in Tech

July 20, 2022

Sovos will help provide skills coaching and career mentorship to the RTC community

ATLANTA – July 20, 2022 – Global tax software provider Sovos today announced a partnership with Rewriting the Code (RTC), a global non-profit organization dedicated to supporting college and early career women with a passion for technology. Sovos will help provide educational programming, mentorship and career path exploration to the RTC community.

With 16,000+ members, RTC’s mission is to help women studying computer science, engineering and related fields of study, helping members gain industry experience through connections to tech leaders and educational resources. Sovos will participate in the upcoming RTC Virtual Career Summit, which includes opportunities for networking and career exploration, and will attend RTC’s winter hackathon, which offers college women studying tech the ability to enhance their skills.

“One of our core values at Sovos is ‘Be Inclusive’– and we live that every day through a variety of ways, including community partnerships like Rewriting the Code,” said Nina Fleming, vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion, Sovos.“ Just 21% of women say they believe the technology industry is a place they could thrive. However, that number is much lower for women of color, at only 8%. Together with RTC, and its other corporate partners, we aspire to make a meaningful impact at universities, workplaces, and perhaps most importantly, in the individual lives of young women.”

“We’re thrilled for Sovos to join in our mission to nurture the next generation of tech leaders,” said Sue Harnett, founder & president, Rewriting the Code. “Together, we have the opportunity to bridge the gap to create a brighter future for women in tech, and we hope other companies will follow suit.”
