Created to support cross-border trade,PEPPOL (Pan-European Public Procurement Online) is an internationally adopted standard that enables the secure, efficient exchange of electronic business documents—such as e-invoices, purchase orders, and dispatch advice—between organizations and government entities.
PEPPOL is now used in 30+ countries and has become a preferred framework for electronic procurement and e-invoicing across both the public and private sectors. Many governments now specify PEPPOL BIS formats or localized PEPPOL extensions as the required standard for B2G and increasingly B2B e-invoicing.
