The Ministry of Finance in the UAE announced on 6 February 2025 the launch of a Public Consultation on eInvoicing. This initiative aims to gather feedback from stakeholders on the proposed eInvoicing data requirements, ensuring transparency and alignment with industry needs.

The Ministry of Finance hopes to:

  • Establish a common understanding of data elements used in eInvoices across business communities

  • Understand the practical requirements of businesses, and in the process, identify any gaps or additional data fields necessary for operational, regulatory, or analytical purposes

  • Obtain diverse perspectives, including industry experts, accounting firms, and eInvoicing Service Providers, to create a holistic and widely accepted electronic invoicing framework.

The consultation document is now available for download here, and the consultation period will remain open until 27 February 2025.
