Following the launch of the KSeF 2.0 Test Taxpayer Application in the beginning of November, on 15 November 2025, Poland’s Ministry of Finance released the KSeF 2.0 Pre-production (Demo) Taxpayer Application version.
How the Test and Pre-Production Environments Work
The pre-production environment allows users to test invoice issuance and receipt under conditions closely resembling those that will be mandatory from February 2026. Unlike the test environment, the pre-production environment requires actual authentication credentials, such as taxpayer identification numbers (NIP), while still using fictional invoice data.
Therefore, taxpayers who want to test KSeF 2.0 using only fictitious invoice data and fictitious credentials should use the test environment, while those who want to test KSeF 2.0 using fictitious invoice data but real authentication credentials should use the pre-production environment.
This approach enables more realistic testing scenarios while ensuring that all activities remain without legal or tax consequences.
Available Functionalities
Key capabilities available in the KSeF 2.0 Pre-Production Taxpayer Application include:
-
Issuing, receiving and viewing invoices and corrections according to the FA(3) logical structure
-
Searching and downloading sent invoices in XML, HTML or PDF formats
-
Generating Official Proof of Receipt (UPO) for single or multiple invoices
-
Handling QR code access and anonymous access to invoices
-
Supporting token generation and management through 31 December 2026
-
Downloading certificates and managing permissions
Important Testing Considerations
The Ministry emphasizes that while the pre-production environment uses real authentication credentials, all invoice data must be fictional, and data will be periodically deleted.
It is also important to note that the Pre-production Taxpayer Application operates independently from the production Certificates and Permissions Module (MCU) launched on 1 November, meaning that permissions and certificates generated in either environment do not transfer to the other. The permissions and KSeF Certificates generated in the MCU are only meant for the production environment.
The Ministry also informs that the pre-production version of the KSeF 2.0 Taxpayer Application may differ from the final product, and its performance will be optimized until the production launch on 1 February 2026.
