Greece: E-Transport Phase 2 Now Live in Production

Following our previous update on the postponement of Phase 2 implementation, the Greek Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has now formally enacted the changes and brought Phase 2 into production. This formalizes the timeline previously announced in a press release, with mandatory compliance beginning May 1, 2026.

myDATA Production Environment Updated

On December 8, 2025, AADE activated Phase 2 of the e-Transport system in the myDATA production environment (v.2.0.0). Changes were first introduced in the TEST environment after the legislation was enacted, then moved to PROD few weeks later.

AADE through a press release published on December 8, 2025, provided an overview of the new Phase 2 functionalities supported in myDATA PROD v.2.0.0, the compliance deadlines and what the impact is on businesses.

What’s New in Phase 2?

Phase 2 introduces enhanced digital tracking capabilities for goods movements throughout Greece. Every goods movement must now be accompanied by a unique QR Code that functions as a digital “passport,” tracking the shipment from warehouse to final recipient through the myDATA platform with real-time status updates (In Transit, Delivered, Completed, Rejected). New functionalities include Group QR Code, allowing transport and logistics companies to consolidate multiple dispatch notes for easier bulk management, and Reverse Dispatch Note, enabling recipients to issue dispatch notes in specific cases such as agricultural product movements.

Timeline

  • April 30, 2026: End of voluntary period for Phase 2 data transmission

  • May 1, 2026: Mandatory Phase 2 compliance begins

Who Is Affected?

Phase 2 impacts all businesses involved in goods movements within Greece, including suppliers, transport companies, 3PL providers, and recipients. Parties in the supply chain must be prepared to generate, scan, and track QR Codes as part of their standard operations by the May 1, 2026 mandatory deadline.

What Does This Mean for Businesses?

With the production environment now live, businesses can begin implementing Phase 2 requirements during the voluntary period. The voluntary period gives businesses time to adapt their commercial/accounting software, train staff, and ensure smooth transition to the new digital tracking requirements well before the May 1, 2026 mandatory deadline.
