Greece’s Ministry of Finance announced in a press release (“Specification of the economic initiatives presented by the Prime Minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair”) on September 19, 2023, that transport documents used to monitor the movement of goods must be issued electronically and reported to the myDATA platform starting from January 2024.

The mandate will start as a pilot program in January 2024 and become fully mandatory by the end of 2024.

According to paragraphs 9A, 9B, 9C of Article 5 of Law 4308/2014, the e-transport document must be issued according to a structured format, certain specifications and content requirements. The actual scope, timeline of implementation, format and content requirements as well as the method of transmission to myDATA will be specified through secondary legislation to be published by the relevant authorities.
