China: expansion of the e-fapiao pilot program

The Pilot Program for issuing fully digitized electronic invoices (e-fapiao) has been expanded to the new provinces and cities: Anhui, Beijing, Guizhou, Hunan, Ningxia, Qinghai and Shandong.

According to the announcements published by the tax authorities in October 2023, selected taxpayers in these provinces and cities, will be able to issue fully digitized e-fapiao.

In March 2023 the pilot program was expanded to selected regions, however, with this new development, from 1st November 2023, all the regions in China, except Tibet, will be allowing pilot taxpayers, to issue fully digitized e-invoices via the electronic invoice service platform.
