The Secretary of Economy of the Federal District has announced that, as of 1 November 2022, the Federal District will begin implementation of its Service Tax Management System (Sistema de Gerenciamento do Imposto Sobre Serviços – ISS), for which the Electronic Invoice for Services (Nota Fiscal de Serviços Eletrônica – NFS-e) will be issued in the ABRASF Standard, to replace models 55 and 65 of the NF-e. This means that after implementation of the System, taxpayers subject to ISS (tax on services) will be prevented from issuing the NF-e models 55 and 65, for this purpose.

Issuance of the NFS-e will be available through this System via the free issuance online platform or webservices integration, for which the taxpayer’s CPF (personal tax id number) and password or digital certificate will be used.

Specific legislation on the rules of the System and issuance of the NFS-e are yet to be published by the Department of Economy of the Federal District.
