South Carolina recently released an updated version of its Form WH-1612, the Transmittal Form for W-2s or 1099s Submitted By Paper. Several changes were made to this form to reflect changes in the filing options for South Carolina for TY2023.

  • As South Carolina no longer accepts CD-ROM discs for filing returns, all references to filing by CD-ROM have been removed and a notice has been added near the top of the form which states, “The SCDOR no longer accepts CD-ROMs.”
  • Sections have been removed to reflect that the form is for paper filing only, including all of Section B.
  • It should be noted that along with no longer accepting CD-ROM discs, the threshold for electronic filing has been reduced from 250 W-2 or 1099 forms or more to 10 or more.
