Maryland's Comptroller's Office recently updated the "Filing Requirements For W-2 Wage Data" webpage.  This page establishes that filers with 25 or more information withholding statements must file in machine media or electronic format.  The Comptroller's Office urges filers to file electronically to save time and processing costs.  Failure to comply with the W-2 reporting rules will result in a penalty of $100 for each violation, along with a $100 penalty for each W-2 statement that is not properly filed.
