IRS Updates ACA Form 1095-B for TY2018 Reporting

The IRS recently updated Form 1095-B, “Health Coverage,” for Tax Year 2018 reporting.

The following changes have been made:

  • The “Name of Employee” box has been separated out into First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name sections (all part of Box 1)
  • Column A of Boxes 23 through 40 in Part IV has been divided into sections for First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name, to be consistent with the change to Box 1 in Part I
  • A minor change has been made in the “Recipient Instructions” portion which does not impact interpretation of the instructions
