The IRS recently released the 2024 Form 1042 (Annual Withholding Tax Return for U.S. Source Income of Foreign Persons). Line 9 was updated to reflect the leap year. Section 4 of the form has been retitled to remove the phrase ‘dividend equivalent’ from the beginning (Payments by a Qualified Derivatives Dealer (QDD)). Tax year has been updated throughout.
