Arkansas Releases Updated Specifications for Filing Forms W-2 & 1099 Electronically, Advances Filing Due Date

Arkansas recently published an updated version of its Specifications for Filing W-2 & 1099 Forms Electronically. These specifications are used to submit withholding tax data to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration in an electronic format.

While the actual specifications remain unchanged from 2016, there is one significant change for tax year 2017: W-2 and 1099 reporting will be due on January 31, 2018. Previously these reports were due to Arkansas by February 28^th^ annually.
