Florida Enacts Back-to-School and Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holidays

Florida enacted legislation which creates a disaster preparedness sales tax holiday between June 1, 2018 and June 7, 2018 during which certain sales of portable flashlights, radios, generators, tarps and batteries are exempt from sales tax. In addition, the legislation creates a back-to-school sales tax holiday between August 3, 2018 and August 5, 2018 during which clothing having a sales price of $60 or less and school supplies having a sales price of $15 or less are exempt.
