Connecticut Increases Sales Tax Holiday Exemption Threshold to $300; Adds Bookbags and Cleated Shoes
Connecticut holds an annual sales tax holiday on clothing and footwear. This year, the holiday will take place from August 16-22, 2026. Recently, Connecticut enacted Public Act No. 26-68, which increased the sales tax holiday exemption threshold from $100 to $300. Additionally, the holiday was expanded to include bookbags and cleated shoes. Therefore, clothing, footwear and bookbags that cost less than $300 will be exempt from sales tax during the holiday.
