Kentucky Publishes 2019 1099 and W-2G Specifications for Electronic Submission

Kentucky has released its 2019 electronic specifications for submitting Forms W-2G, 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-G, 1099-INT, 1099-K, 1099-MISC, 1099-OID, and 1099-R. There are some changes to this publication and the specifications of which filers should take note:

• The Amount Type for Code 5 for Reporting Payments on Form 1099-DIV changed from “REIT Dividends” to “Section 199A Dividends.”
• For the Form 1099-B Payee “B” Record, there is a new field – Field Position 620, Applicable Checkbox for QOF, “Enter a “1” (one) if reporting proceeds from QOF. Otherwise enter a blank.” Accordingly, the following “Blank” field is now Field Positions 621-662.
• For the Form 1099-G Payee “B” Record, there is a new field – Field Position 544, Second TIN Notice, “Required: Enter ‘2’ (two) to indicate notification by the IRS twice within three calendar years that the payee Provided an incorrect name and/or TIN combination. Otherwise, enter a blank.” Accordingly, the following “Blank” field is now Field Positions 545-546.
• For the Form 1099-G Payee “B” Record, there is a new field – Field Position 557-564, Date of Payment, “Enter date of payment in YYYMMDD format. (for example, January 5, 2019, would be 20190105). Do not enter hyphens or slashes.” Accordingly, the following “Blank” field is now Field Positions 565-662.
