The Oman Tax Authority (OTA) has officially launched the first release of the Fawtara platform, introducing the Service Provider Registration feature.

This release was already expected for the first quarter of 2026, in line with the implementation timeline previously communicated by OTA.

OTA has also published a Service Provider Registration Manual on its website, providing guidance on how organisations can apply for and manage the Service Provider Accreditation process through the Fawtara Portal.

In addition, there are four workshop sessions organised for service providers which will take place during March and April 2026. Registration links for these sessions are available on the OTA website.

Furthermore, the tax authority confirmed that the draft e-Invoicing data dictionary and business rules remain under consultation with pilot taxpayers, selected by the OTA (the so-called Rollout 1 group) and interested prospective service providers. A final and official version will be released once feedback from these consultation sessions has been reviewed and incorporated.
