The Turkish Revenue Administration (Gelir İdaresi Başkanlığı) has announced an extension to the implementation deadline for implementing the requirements contained in the “Technical Guide for Invoices Related to Medication and Medical Device Deliveries”.
Under the updated timeline:
-
The deadline for implementing the technical requirements has been extended from 30 June 2025 to 1 October 2025
-
For pharmacies and optician establishments, a longer implementation period applies with a deadline of 1 October 2026
This extension follows multiple previous postponements, as the requirements were initially due to be implemented by 24 January 2025, then extended to 30 June 2025, and now further extended to October 2025.
The update affects all taxpayers who:
-
Are enrolled in the e-Invoice system and
-
Engage in medication and medical device trade
The Technical Guide specifies required fields and formatting that must be included in e-Invoices for medication and medical device deliveries. The Administration indicated that this extension was granted in response to taxpayer feedback and to accommodate newly updated requirements in the revised Technical Guide.
This implementation is part of Turkey’s ongoing digital transformation of its tax system, aimed at standardizing data collection, improving compliance, and enhancing transparency in the healthcare supply chain.
