As general manager of the sales and use tax line of business at Sovos, Terry drives market leadership, growth and adoption of Sovos Sales and Use Tax solutions. Approaching things through the lens of an entrepreneur is something Terry believes in and encourages his teams to apply in their own careers.
For example, as a student at Concordia University, Terry moved his classes to nights to launch a start-up technology consulting firm during the day. He hired employees, grew the business and later sold it. In 2019, Terry’s career came full circle when Concordia University honored him as one of their “50 Under 50 Most Influential Business Leaders.”
The concept of social currency is important to Terry: ‘Leave people better off than when they came’ is his motto. It’s simple, but one that continues to pay dividends through the strong relationships he has fostered over the years.
Outside of work, you must move fast to keep up with Terry, as he is a passionate cyclist. With the help of technology, he can get on his bike even in the winter months and ride virtually through the Champs Elysée or NYC with his buddies from across North America and Europe.
