As general counsel, Justin Pentz leads the Sovos global legal team. He is an active participant in customer and partner negotiations, bringing clarity and cohesiveness to the legal aspects of the relationship. He brings a strong understanding of the international tax and compliance landscape which enables him to advise customers throughout the contracting process, ensuring they are in a position to scale their solutions for their needs today and in the future.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Justin specializes in addressing legal and business challenges for global technology companies. His approach centers around fostering a strong, proactive and growth-minded in-house legal function to collaborate closely with customers and partners to drive impactful results.
Justin’s expertise includes significant mergers and acquisitions on both the buy and sell sides, debt refinancing, and major corporate transactions. Additionally, he tackles contentious litigation, addresses data privacy and security concerns and navigates complex regulatory challenges. He is dedicated to leveraging his experience to support business growth and innovation, ensuring legal strategies align seamlessly with organizational goals.
Prior to Sovos, Justin spent seven years with at Travelport, a B2B travel commerce technology platform. He also spent nearly seven years at Dechert LLP, a global law firm, where he focused on complex civil litigation matters, as well as federal and state government investigations across the software, financial services and fintech, travel services and other industries.
Justin is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School.
