Brian Paterson brings more than 20 years of enterprise software sales leadership experience to Sovos. An AI-forward executive, Brian has built and led high-performing teams, driven transformational growth, and managed complex global customer relationships across tax compliance, communications, customer engagement, and artificial intelligence.
Prior to Sovos, Brian held senior leadership roles at some of the technology industry’s most recognized companies including Oracle, Microsoft, Twilio, and Genesys. Across these organizations, he developed deep expertise in scaling enterprise sales operations and delivering lasting value through complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
Brian believes that sustained revenue growth is built on three foundations: a deep understanding of the customer’s business, a team culture rooted in accountability and trust, and a relentless focus on aligning solutions to outcomes. He leads with transparency, invests heavily in talent development, and brings a strategic mindset to every go-to-market opportunity.
Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Georgia. He lives in Frisco, Texas, with his family and chocolate labs.
