New Sales Tax Filing Alternative in Puerto Rico

Sovos
September 23, 2014

Recently, Puerto Rico made some important changes to their filing processes that affect all businesses selling goods and services into that territory.  The changes are happening so rapidly that we set up an online Puerto Rico Sales Tax Changes Resource Center with news updates, FAQs and white papers to help businesses to better understand the latest rules and regulations. The Resource Center is constantly updated to share new information, such as the alternative sales tax filing options announced this past week.  Due to technical difficulties in the new Portal Integrado del Comerciante (PICO) system and other factors, the Treasury Department of Puerto Rico (Hacienda) issued two Administrative Determinations, DA 14-23 and DA 14-24.   Both of these provide alternative filing methods for those businesses filing sales taxes in Puerto Rico.  Get the details on the alternative filing options. As a part of our Sales Tax Services, Taxware ensures that our tax content and filing processes are in sync with each of the jurisdictions we cover.   Taxware Tax Experts work closely with state treasuries and departments of revenue to ensure our customers are following the most up-to-date rules and regulations.  Filing sales tax returns correctly the first time saves your business time and money by reducing notices, decreasing late fees and minimizing penalties. To discover why over 200 Fortune 1000 and national businesses already trust Taxware to process and remit their sales tax returns, please visit Taxware.com/sales-tax-services.
