Andy Hovancik serves as Sovos Compliance President and Chief Executive Officer, guiding the company’s mission to provide peace of mind to over 4,500 clients with demanding tax compliance and reporting obligations.
Andy joined the company in January 2013 and has over 25 years of experience leading technology companies in the software, services and manufacturing industries. Mr. Hovancik spent more than 15 years in regulatory, compliance and educational software in a broad range of senior leadership roles.
Andy holds a BA in Business Management & Marketing from Cornell University and an MBA from Tulane University.
As the Chief Sales Officer, Joe is responsible for Sovos’ growth strategy and execution, driving profitable growth, ensuring client satisfaction and retention, and integrating acquired companies.
Joe joined Sovos in early 2013, bringing over 20 years of sales leadership experience and a track record of building high-performance sales teams. Most recently Joe spent 3 years at CA technologies in the role of VP of Area Sales, and prior to that spent 12 years at Akibia (acquired by Zensar) where he ran North American Sales. Since joining Sovos, he has twice been featured as a speaker at Vista Equity Partners’ Sales and Marketing Best Practice Sharing Summits.
Joe holds a BA in Economics from Boston College.
John is responsible for product development, agile program management, the security of both product offerings and enterprise, the overall platform architecture, and the technical operations that ensure that stability and scalability of the Sovos SaaS platform.
John joined Sovos in October 2015, bringing 25 years of successful technology and architecture leadership. Prior to joining Sovos, John served as CTO of Datapipe, where he worked on software defined datacenter initiatives around the world for multi-cloud environments. Before that, he served as CTO of Intralinks, where he led the evolution of their SaaS platform to serve multiple use cases sharing critical information across global boundaries, which culminated in an IPO in 2010.
John earned his BS in Computer Science from Lehigh University, an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University and an MBA from Babson College.
Kristian oversees financial operations at Sovos. A 20-year veteran of finance, sales, marketing, communications, and operations with various tech companies, he has previous leadership experiences as PTC’s Corporate VP of Finance and Plexus’ VP of Marketing and Market Sector VP.
During his time at PTC, Kristian oversaw the organization’s 1500 BPS improvement in operating margins and its $100 million reduction in operational expenses. Under his guidance, PTC saw its market cap grow by $1.5 billion.
Kristian has a BA in Psychology from Allegheny College and an MS in Management from Boston University Brussels.
Eric leads marketing for Sovos globally, helping to define emerging market problems and creating engaging content campaigns that help businesses discover the value of automating business-to-government compliance activities.
After starting his career as a journalist, Eric has spent the past 15 years in marketing and executive leadership roles for software companies, including the recent launch of a new small to mid-sized business line for Sovos. Before joining Sovos, Eric was CEO of the enterprise event software company Zerista, a role he took after successfully leading a division of Active Network through a period of rapid growth.
Eric has a BA in Journalism from Colorado State University.
As the VP of Operations, Dan has the responsibility for all post-sale client facing operations, including Implementation Services, Client Support, Compliance Services and Partner Operations.
Dan has over 13 years of experience in software, strategy and business development. Prior to joining Sovos, Dan worked as the Director of Corporate Strategy at PTC and at Avery Dennison he was the Director of New Growth Platforms. Since joining Sovos, he has been the Director of Strategic Programs and the VP of Client Success, where he led the creation of this program for becoming a trusted partner to all Sovos clients.
Dan holds a BSE in Operations Research & Financial Engineering from Princeton University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
As Vice President of Human Resources, Colleen leads the development of strategic plans and programs to facilitate the success and development of Sovos global talent programs. She is dedicated to the personal and professional development and growth of all team members and in expanding and promoting the best talent within the organization.
Colleen joined the Sovos team in 2013 after gaining more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources leadership positions within a wide variety of global high-growth, direct marketing, consumer product and manufacturing organizations.
Colleen received a BS in Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato and actively holds her Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) professional certification.
As the VP of Global Accounts, Paul and his team partner with the largest global financial services organizations by offering innovative SaaS solutions to meet complex multi-jurisdictional regulatory obligations.
Paul has more than 24 years of experience within the tax information reporting industry. Paul’s previous leadership position at Sovos (formerly Convey) include VP of Client Management and VP of Operations. Paul was formerly a member of IRPAC (Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee) that provides constructive guidance on matters of mutual concern to both the industry and the IRS and is currently a member of the CRS Business Advocacy group that works with the OECD on matters related to the automatic exchange of information (AEOI).
Paul holds a BA in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.
Matt and his department ensure that all Sovos tax and reporting solutions are compliant with global indirect tax laws. He also provides strategic direction, guidance and recommendations for product enhancements and development. Matt is also focused on fostering and managing government and industry relationships.
Matt has over 17 years of experience in compliance, including starting as a tax counsel in the tax department and then advancing from Manager to Director of Tax Research and from there to Senior Director of Tax to his present position. He also was formerly a Team Manager at John Hancock Financial Services. Matt is currently a member of the Technical Advisory Group of the OECD (Working Party #9), which drafts model legislation and implementation guidelines for the taxation of cross border services.
Matt has a BS in Business Administration from the MA College of Liberal Arts (formerly North Adams State College) as well as a JD from the New England School of Law.
Casper is responsible for building out and managing the Sovos VAT line of business within the organization.
Casper has over 20 years of experience in international VAT. Casper started his career consulting for Arthur Andersen and then was VAT Director for KPNQwest, a Pan-European telecommunication company. He created, partnered and co-founded VAT Resource, a successful VAT services company that was acquired by Sovos 2014.
Casper is a tax lawyer and has a Masters degree in tax law from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands.
As the Vice President of Corporate Development, John is responsible for the creation of Sovos’ inorganic growth strategy, as well as overseeing the company’s business acquisitions and subsequent integrations.
Before joining the Sovos team, John spent 15 years in Corporate Finance roles, commercial banking, and M&A advisory. He was responsible for the generation of over $1 billion in buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions. He has spearheaded Sovos’ efforts to acquire six different companies.
John received a BS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. John was an officer in the U.S. Navy.
